Explorer's World Map & Minimap Mod / Addon does the one thing Bedrock badly needs—context. You get a top-corner minimap with a compass ring, live X/Y/Z, and biome readout, and a full-screen map you can pop open from the addon’s UI item to plan routes. Zoom in to trace rivers and coastlines, zoom out to stitch your explored chunks, and toggle grid/markers when you’re screenshotting. It plays nice on touch, controller, or mouse, so the map’s as useful on a phone as it is on PC.
Day to day, treat it like your travel kit. Sneak-interact with the map item to drop a waypoint at your feet, rename it “Home,” “Village,” or “Quarry,” and follow the on-screen distance tag back without spamming pillars. When you die, your last spot pins automatically so corpse runs aren’t guesswork; grab a boat, follow the marker, and you’re back in minutes. Mark Nether portals on both sides and label them 8:1 so overworld jumps line up, and flip to cave view before you commit to a tunnel so you don’t drill into a ravine by accident.
On Realms, Explorer's World Map & Minimap Mod / Addon shines. Enable shared pins for team routes, color-code biomes for resource hunts, and set a “Raid” marker everyone can rally to. Hide the minimap during events if you want it clean, then pop it back on for the trek home.
