Betafied Mod

Addons / Addons 1.21

Betafied Mod is basically a time machine for anyone who misses the old-school “simple but brutal” Minecraft vibe. It’s not just a texture swap—this pack is trying to recreate Beta 1.7.3 as closely as possible on Bedrock, which means the world feels different the second you load in. The terrain is classic-style and pre-generated to match that older generation look, and even small details like vegetation get rolled back by replacing newer flowers with poppies and dandelions.

Gameplay rules get flipped to match the era too. There’s no hunger system, so food restores health instantly, sprinting is gone, and XP/enchanting are removed so progression is more about gathering resources and building smart instead of grinding levels. Combat feels different as well thanks to the machine gun bow fire rate, and travel has that nostalgic risk because boats break into planks and sticks when they crash. There’s also stuff like petrified oak slabs being hard as stone again, which is such a weirdly specific throwback that it really sells the Beta mood.

Betafied Mod even changes how mobs act, bringing back classic behaviors like running creepers, standing skeletons, and jumping animals. Inventory management gets harder in a good way too, since food doesn’t stack, forcing you to plan trips instead of carrying a tower of steaks. And to keep the world “pure,” modern items get filtered through an item whitelist, converting or removing stuff like copper, deepslate, and netherite so your Bedrock world stays locked into that golden-age feel.
