Better Torches Mod

Better Torches Mod is a simple quality-of-life upgrade that makes torches feel like they should’ve always worked this way. All vanilla torch types emit light while you’re holding them—normal torches, soul torches, redstone torches, and copper torches—so you can actually see where you’re going without spamming placements every few blocks.



The offhand behavior is the real smooth part. When you use a torch, it automatically gets placed into your offhand, which means you can keep your main hand free for a pickaxe, sword, or food while still carrying light. That’s huge for survival mining, because you’re not constantly swapping hotbar slots just to keep a cave visible.

In practice, Better Torches Mod shines in all the annoying spots: deep caves, long tunnels, and those tight 1-block-high corridors where placing torches is extra clunky. It’s also clutch when you’re low on torches and trying to stretch what you have—carry the light, keep moving, and only place torches when you actually need to mark paths or secure an area.

- Open the downloaded file to install;
- Activate the settings;
- Play with the new mod!
