Omedweller Bedrock Edition Addon

Addons / Addons 26

Companion add-ons in Bedrock usually fall into two categories: useless aesthetic pets that immediately die to a creeper, or overpowered bodyguards that completely ruin the game's combat balance. The Omedweller add-on plays both sides, giving you an indestructible 5,000 HP utility mob tied directly to a grueling, Tamagotchi-style survival tax. If you manage his strict feeding schedule, you get a massive tactical advantage. If you slip up, your own bodyguard turns into a block-breaking siege boss.

The resource automation is where this add-on actually earns its keep. Handing Omebuddy an axe, shovel, or pickaxe commands him to scan a massive 200-block radius and retrieve a full stack of baseline materials, or you can hand him a sword to lock down your immediate perimeter and team-shot hostile mobs. Bedrock’s chunk-loading notoriously struggles with entities wandering too far away, often freezing their AI when they cross unloaded chunk borders. The inclusion of a cheap, craftable Gold Whistle to manually teleport him back is a vital technical failsafe, ensuring your massive tank doesn’t just get permanently lost in an unloaded ravine while fetching stone.

The entire power fantasy is balanced by the cookie mechanic. You have to feed him twice a in-game day—once before noon, once before midnight. Missing a single feed immediately triggers his Omedweller alter-ego. This isn't a standard hostile mob you can just pillar up three blocks to escape. The Omedweller actively paths through your defenses by breaking blocks to reach you, cycling through varied attack strengths. Because coding dynamic block-breaking AI on Bedrock can quickly choke the internal tick rate with hundreds of dropped item entities, the creator smartly hard-capped the transformation to exactly one minute. You just have to survive the onslaught for sixty seconds before the entity resets and Omebuddy respawns.

If you want to intentionally test your late-game gear or base defenses without waiting for a missed meal, you can manually force the transformation by spamming the whistle four times or crafting the dedicated Ometeddy item.

Are you going to immediately set up an industrial cocoa bean and wheat farm just to keep your 5,000 HP bodyguard docile, or are you intentionally going to starve him to see if you can survive a one-minute Omedweller siege inside your own house?
