VDX: Java/Desktop UI Mod is designed to improve the game interface of Minecraft.



The default Bedrock interface is built for tapping on a phone screen, featuring oversized buttons and menus that waste a massive amount of space. VDX: Java/Desktop UI completely guts that mobile-first design and replaces it with the classic Java Edition layout. From the moment you launch the game, you get the traditional panorama background, the proper loading bars, and a settings menu that actually makes sense to navigate on a monitor or TV.

The real improvement happens once you load into a world and open your inventory. Rummaging through a double chest or trying to quick-craft items feels instantly better because the grid matches Java's pixel-perfect spacing. It scraps the bulky Bedrock recipe book and awkward armor slot placements, giving you a compact layout that makes sorting your loot much faster. It even nails the tiny details, like the transparent chat box, the specific way the hotbar highlights your selected item, and the classic Java clicking sounds.

Since this is strictly a resource pack, it runs directly on your client without needing any experimental toggles turned on. You can drop it into any active Realm or multiplayer server, and it won't break achievements or affect anyone else's game. When combined with other mechanical tweaks like functional offhand and saturation fixes, it basically tricks your brain into forgetting you are playing Bedrock at all.
